Rock-Ola's Nostalgic Music Center selected as "High-Impact Product of the Year"
Torrance, CA - March 15, 2008— The serendipitous combination of Nostalgic Music Center’s antique look and feel and thoroughly modern digital audio technology won its selection as one of CE Pro’s 2007 High-Impact Products. This honor is awarded annually by professional integrators of custom home electronics systems and is limited to 20 products each year.
CE Pro is a leading trade publication serving the custom home-electronics business. Its readers are typically involved in the home theatre, digital media, distributed audio and video and similar electronic systems. This recognition is especially prestigious as it represents Rock-Ola’s breakthrough into a growing market outside its commercial line of products and untouched by its earlier home entertainment jukeboxes.
“The CHIPs are unlike any other awards in the industry,” says Jason Knott, editor-in-chief of CE Pro. “The winners are exclusively nominated, and then voted on, by integrators of home theatre systems. The winners really do represent the best among the rank-and-file of custom installation.”
The heart and soul of the Nostalgic Music Center is the Qsonix software with a 160g hard drive that holds up to 2800 CDs. The music library is browsed and managed with a touch screen monitor. Song play is a simple as a touch of the screen. Custom playlists may be easily created and stored, uploaded to mobile MP3 devices and shared within the home network. The built-in CD/DVD RW drive lets the user burn a CD from a stored album or playlist. Five speakers, a dual 3-way system for “live” performance sound and a powerful Peavey 900 watt power amplifier deliver quality acoustics essential to the electronic home client.
“We built the Nostalgic Music Center to meet the needs of a growing number of consumers who love music and demand quality electronic components. The revolutionary interface of Nostalgic Music Center immediately grabbed the attention of home theatre industry professionals. They really ‘got’ the technology and embraced the evocative beauty of the Rock-Ola “Bubbler” cabinet as a valuable solution for many of their clients,” explains Glenn Streeter, CEO of Rock-Ola Mfg. Corp. “This recognition is very meaningful for us. We are very proud to move into the electronic home market with a truly innovative product. Rock-Ola dealers, many in the game room furniture and accessory business, have discovered that the addition of the Music Center to their inventory has expanded their customer base to include a new generation of leisure product consumers.”
The Music Centers are available in a variety of models, including the all-new iRock as well as the “Bubbler”, “Gazelle”, “Peacock”, and Harley-Davidson branded jukebox. MSRP ranges from $7,895 to $12,400. Two new home Music Centers, one table top model and a modern wall/countertop model will be introduced at the BCA Billard Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina this June.
